John Thurso hails new powers
Published 28 Nov 2014The proposed new powers for the Scottish Parliament have been welcomed by local MP, John Thurso.
He gave his backing to the conclusions in the Smith Commission which was set up after the independence referendum to look at additional powers for the parliament.
“This is a substantial shift in powers to Scotland over taxation, welfare, and many other areas. The vow is fulfilled and home rule, which I have campaigned for all my life, substantially delivered. It is a great day for Scotland,” said the Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross MP.
