New Ormlie station is ready and at your service
Published 04 Jun 2015Starting up to keep you running, Ormlie Service Station is Thurso’s new location for all your fuelling and car wash service needs along with a whole lot more.
Open seven days a week, with fuel available from its pumps 24 hours day, motorists will have access to petrol and diesel whatever time of the day or night the need arises.
Simpson Oils, which has been supplying fuels and lubricants from its depots at Scrabster and Wick to domestic, commercial, agricultural and maritime customers for over 50 years, has opened a new service station at Ormlie Road.
The site was empty for four years before Simpson Oils purchased the land last year and over the last nine months the firm has ploughed significant investment into the business.
Simpson Oils has signed a five-year contract with fuel brand JET to supply Ormlie Service Station with fuels to meet the needs of all customers and vehicles.
Director Hugh Simpson said his company knows what customers’ fuel requirements are and Ormlie Service Station will be able to meet those needs around the clock.
“Ormlie Service Station perfectly complements what our business specialises in and will become an essential part of meeting motorists’ fuelling needs in Turso,” he said.
“The service station will have all the fuels drivers require which will be available at a time which suits them.
“We are delighted to have signed a deal with JET as we need a strong fuel brand to compete with two other forecourts in Turso. With its competitive pricing, JET was simply the best solution for our local customer base.
“As a Phillips 66 wholesale distributor for over six years, choosing JET as our fuel brand also feels like a natural progression.
“We know the company very well and have an excellent working relationship. Security of supply was also a key factor in our decision-making process.”
Along with unleaded petrol and diesel available for regular motorists, kerosene and gas oil will be available on the forecourt. As part of the major investment into the site, Ormlie Service Station can also offer an excellent range of maintenance services to ensure your car is kept in pristine condition.
Facilities such as jet car washes and air and water towers will allow drivers to keep their vehicles clean, tyres pumped up and give their motors access to water when required.
Ormlie Service Station will also become home to a Lifestyle Express convenience store which will open at the site in due course and offer a wide range of goods and services as well as an in-store cash machine.
Ormlie Service Station is the first petrol station to be opened by Simpson Oils in the company’s long and proud history.
Paul Yates, JET’s territory manager for Scotland, said they were delighted to be working in partnership with the company to offer greater choice to customers in Turso.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Simpson Oils into the JET network. Despite stiff local competition, the forecourt is in a prime location in the town, close to the high school, college and hospital,” he said.
“We’re confident that Hugh and his team will make a great success of the site and that it will be
well received by both the local community and the many tourists who visit the area annually.”
Ormlie Service Station is open seven days a week from 7am to 7pm with 24-hour pay-at-pump access to fuel.
