Orkney Media Group Ltd
The origins of the book binding activities of today’s Orkney Media Group can be traced back 221 years. The business was primarily focussed on the binding of bibles and gradually developed into a professional printing business; the first in the islands and a dramatic development at the time. The company’s The Orcadian newspaper which was established in 1854, has lived through significant change, not just in terms of how news is accessed today, but substantial advancements in printing technology.
The Orcadian of the 21st century continues to embrace new technology and digital presence, to stay at the cutting edge. Their online subscription readership extends to as far away as Sydney, Australia, whilst their weekly, monthly and annual publications are read by a hugely wide-reaching international tourist audience – the latest Visit Scotland survey reveals Orkney hosted 175,000 visitors in 2017.
The Orcadian Print Centre is the closest operating large scale print facility to businesses in Caithness and Sutherland. It offers a substantial range of printing options, including litho printing for flyers, brochures and magazines, short run digital printing, PVC banners, vehicle wraps, signage, canvas prints as well as a wide range of printed merchandise.
