#ProtectNorthHighlands – Test & Protect Service
The service allows businesses access to a free, secure and simple way of storing customer details in line with Scottish Government’s requirements for Test and Protect.
Customers are asked to use the service on arriving at the businesses premises. Customers simply open the camera or QR code scanning app on their smartphone device and hold it up to the QR code to open the web app or alternatively, they can enter protect.caithnesschamber.com and manually enter the unique four digit venue code. Each venue registered will receive it’s own code so that details are stored correctly. Once a customer is ready to leave the premises, they’re encouraged to sign out to help keep data specific. There is an auto sign out facility should anyone leave forgetting to sign out.
Should any customer be unable to complete the process themselves, businesses have the ability to enter the data manually.
#ProtectNorthHighlands provides piece of mind to participating businesses and customers as their data is securely stored by Caithness Chamber of Commerce. Any data which is not called on by the NHS Test & Protect team is auto deleted after the mandatory 21 day period and any requests for information are sent direct to the Test & Protect team only. This feature allows participating businesses to concentrate on providing their usual level of fantastic customer service and for customers to know exactly where their data is.
The web app was designed and built entirely in the Highlands by Cairngorm Studios, Grantown-on-Spey, in conjunction with Cairngorms Business Partnership Ltd. The web-based Test & Protect solution has already been successfully rolled out by Cairngorms, Lochaber and Moray Chambers of Commerce.
